Youngstown police raid comes up in arms, drugs

Police made a home on the city's South side, seizing weapons and drugs.

According to police reports, officers went with the Mahoning Valley violent crimes Task Force to address West Judson Avenue shortly before 5 pm Thursday to serve a Search warrant. Police officers had to force their way into the home because no one would come to the door.

Once inside the home, officers found five people gathered in a bedroom. Two doors to the home had been barricaded from the inside.

Police seized two firearms, suspected crack cocaine, digital scale, two small bags of suspected marijuana, $ 166 and several unidentified pills.

People inside was questioned by the police as people of interest, but no arrests were made.

Officers in an earlier raid on Elm Street on the city's north side about 7: 30 p.m. Thursday, did not find any drugs or weapons but were arrested Kalvin Franklin, 41, of Verona Avenue, are two stock options — one for drug abuse-marijuana and another for identity fraud.
